Gavin Murphy is a Grammy Nominated arranger, composer and music producer.

 

He is at the forefront of the popular music scene, regularly collaborating with prestigious artists, recognized orchestras and television and film companies.

 

His diverse work demonstrates a deep understanding of many musical languages.

 

Born in Belfast and based in Dublin Gavin graduated in Music from Newcastle College and from the University of London for Post Graduate Studies, later studying arranging and orchestration with Gerry Gates and Ben Newhouse of Berklee College of Music.

 

He has written extensively for popular, jazz and symphonic settings.

 

In 2015 he was appointed as Musical Director for the highly successful Celtic Woman show and during his five years there produced, composed and arranged music for five albums and three television specials earning the show it's first ever Grammy nomination on his debut recording with them.

In the popular and commercial music world he has worked with artists as diverse as

Niall Horan, Van Morrison, Harry Connick Jnr, Andrew Lloyd Webber, The Corrs, Gregory Porter, Glen Hansard, Sinead O’Connor, The Chieftains and Kodaline
