Gavin Murphy is an internationally respected composer, arranger, orchestrator, conductor and music producer whose work has been at the forefront of the popular and orchestral music worlds for more than two decades.

 

Known for his versatility, musical depth and collaborative approach, Gavin has developed a reputation for bridging genres, moving seamlessly between orchestral composition, contemporary popular music, television and film scoring, and large-scale live productions.

 

Throughout his career, Murphy has collaborated with many of the world’s most prestigious artists, ensembles and production companies. His work reflects a deep understanding of a wide range of musical languages, from symphonic and jazz traditions to modern commercial and cinematic styles. 

 

As both a creative artist and technical craftsman, he is widely recognised as an accomplished orchestral arranger, musical director and conductor, as well as an imaginative composer and songwriter. In addition, Murphy is an accomplished and Grammy-nominated music producer, bringing a refined orchestral sensibility to contemporary recordings and live performances.

 

In the popular and commercial music sphere, Murphy has worked with an impressive list of internationally renowned artists and performers. His orchestral arrangements, production work and musical direction have contributed to projects involving legendary composers such as Andrew Lloyd Webber and Julian Lloyd Webber, as well as globally recognised performers including Celtic Woman, Christy Moore, Clannad, David Gray, Dermot Kennedy, Gregory Porter, Harry Connick Jr., Niall Horan, Sinéad O’Connor, The Corrs, The Irish Tenors and Van Morrison.

 

He has also contributed extensively to projects for major broadcasters and production companies including BBC, RTÉ, and PBS, as well as film and television producers such as Mind The Gap Films, Motion Films, Caoz Films, Newgrange Pictures, Tyrone Productions and ShinAwiL Productions.
