GAVIN MURPHY

As a composer, arranger, orchestrator and music producer, Gavin has been at the forefront of the popular music scene for the last two decades, regularly collaborating with prestigious artists, recognised orchestras and television and film companies.

His diverse work demonstrates a deep understanding of many musical languages. He is an established orchestral arranger, musical director, conductor, a versatile and imaginative composer and an accomplished Grammy nominated music producer and songwriter.
In his varied work Gavin has been involved with numerous projects for BBC, RTE, PBS, Mind The Gap Films, Motion Films, Caoz Films, Newgrange Pictures, Tyrone Productions, Shinawil Productions amongst others.
He has written television themes, orchestral scores, musicals, original songs and advertising jingles, writing extensively for popular, jazz and symphonic settings.

He has recently worked undertaking music supervision on the second season of the hit Netflix series ‘Wednesday’ directed by Tim Burton.
In the popular and commercial music world Gavin has worked with many globally successful artists including Andrew & Julian Lloyd Webber, Celtic Woman, Christy Moore, Clannad, David Gray, Dermot Kennedy, Gregory Porter, Harry Connick Jnr, Niall Horan, Sinead O’Connor, The Corrs, The Irish Tenors and Van Morrison.

Background
Gavin was born in Belfast and is now based in Dublin. He Graduated in Music from Newcastle College and from the University Of London for Post Graduate Studies. He went on to study arranging, orchestration and composition with the world renowned Berklee College of Music.
